How to set up a network between controller, Connector and database?
The SQL4automation Connector is installed on a Windows or Linux PC. The database can be placed on the same PC, but this is not required. The Connector can be installed on a PC-based controller in the first place.
The communication between the controller and the Connector is handled via TCP/IP. Controller and Connector therefore need to be connected on the same Ethernet.
The communication between the SQL4automation Connector and the database is done via ODBC. Thus, Connector and database need to be connected through the same Ethernet as well. This is easily possible in a company network.
If the Connector is located on a PC with two network cards the communication can be set up to the controller through network 1 and to a database through network 2. Both networks have no physical interconnection, which is often required in company or machine networks.
